Since their announcement, another player has come on board in Bracebridge \u2013 which will bring the number of marijuana growing operations to two in Muskoka, if they are successful.<\/p>\n<div style=\"float: left; margin-right: 14px;\"><strong><broadstreet-zone zone-id=\"45658\" keywords=\"\" soft-keywords=\"true\" zone-alias=\"\"><\/broadstreet-zone><\/strong><\/div>\n<p>There are currently <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hc-sc.gc.ca\/dhp-mps\/marihuana\/info\/list-eng.php\" target=\"_blank\">39 licensed producers<\/a><\/span> across Canada. New growers are required to be licensed by Health Canada under the <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/laws-lois.justice.gc.ca\/eng\/regulations\/SOR-2016-230\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\">Access to Cannabis for Medical Purposes Regulations<\/a><\/span> (ACMPR), which on August 24, 2016 replaced the Marijuana for Medical Purposes Regulations. The laws involving the growing and consuming of medical marijuana have been steadily changing. You can find a summary on Health Canada\u2019s website <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.canada.ca\/en\/health-canada\/services\/publications\/drugs-health-products\/understanding-new-access-to-cannabis-for-medical-purposes-regulations.html#a1\">here<\/a><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>Once MuskokaPharma Inc. is given all the required approvals from Health Canada, it is anticipating it will have hired 100 employees by year three of its operation.<\/p>\n<p>MuskokaPharma Inc. President Allan Holman said the company is still in the personnel security clearance stage and anticipates that will take a couple of months.
