The new skating area was created after Town staff discovered that the rink it was preparing at Cann Lake, adjacent to Muskoka Heritage Place, would be unsafe for use due to low water levels.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re so pleased to present this to residents, and especially today,\u201d said Colleen MacDonald, Manager of Parks and Cemeteries on February 14, Valentine&#8217;s Day.<\/p>\n<p>This is the first time that Avery Beach has been used as a Town-built skating rink.<\/p>\n<p>Avery Beach is located at 8 Yonge Street North, near Westside Fish &amp; Chips. Parking is available and a path has been cleared to the edge of the rink. Be advised that there are no washroom facilities and there is no artificial lighting.
