Being active is important at any age. For children, it contributes to healthy development. In adults, it reduces the risk of disease and improves mental health, and in older adults it can also increase independence and reduce the risk of injury due to falls.<\/p>\n
It may seem that there are more opportunities for children to be active, with more options for organized sport and more time to spend at play. Fortunately, in our town there\u2019s an abundance of activities available for all ages and Huntsville\u2019s Sport and Recreation Week, November 14-19, is a great time to get a sneak peek at all of the programs available.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Canada Summit Centre and the Active Living Centre are open to celebrate sport, and healthy, active living and aging,\u201d says Simone Babineau, Manager of Recreation and Leisure Services for the Town of Huntsville. \u201cWe encourage people to come out and try something new.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\t\t
