Emergencies can happen in an instant, even to experienced boaters and wearing a life jacket can significantly increase your chances of survival.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On Thursday afternoon, members of the Southern Georgian Bay OPP Detachment responded to a dangerous marine incident near\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/maps.app.goo.gl\/WMB3wxQRyf9CNTL98\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Brandy&#8217;s Island on the waters of Georgian Bay<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At approximately 2:15 p.m., officers were dispatched after a vessel operator was ejected into the water. The vessel continued in a circular motion and subsequently struck the person in the water.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The operator, a 57-year-old male, was transported to a local hospital by Muskoka EMS and was treated for minor injuries. Officers were assisted on scene by the Georgian Bay Township Fire Department.
