Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare (MAHC) is building on the philosophy of centering care around patients and their families and is seeking applicants for a volunteer-based Patient and Family Advisory Committee.<\/p>\n<div style=\"float: left; margin-right: 14px;\"><strong><broadstreet-zone zone-id=\"45658\" keywords=\"\" soft-keywords=\"true\" zone-alias=\"\"><\/broadstreet-zone><\/strong><\/div>\n<p>MAHC hopes to recruit a total of 10 volunteer advisors: five from north Muskoka and five from south Muskoka.<\/p>\n<p>A Patient and Family Advisory Committee is an opportunity for patients and family members to collaborate with MAHC as partners in planning services and systems to shape and improve the patient experience. The committee is a venue for patients and families to provide input into policy and program development, while promoting partnerships and fostering cooperation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is only when we see health care through the eyes of patients and their families that we can truly improve their experience,\u201d says Karen Fleming, Chief Quality &amp; Nursing Executive. \u201cWe are looking for people who have had a recent experience either as a patient or as a family member of a patient who received care at MAHC.
