Police continue to search for additional suspects.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n<div style=\"float: left; margin-right: 14px;\"><strong><broadstreet-zone zone-id=\"45658\" keywords=\"\" soft-keywords=\"true\" zone-alias=\"\"><\/broadstreet-zone><\/strong><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>On Tuesday, July 1, 2025, shortly before 5:00 a.m., officers from the Huntsville Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to reports of an armed home invasion at a private residence in the Hillside area. As the situation developed, the investigation extended beyond the original location, prompting the closure of Highway 11 in both directions between Severn River Road and Coopers Falls Road, and between Canning Road and Graham Road.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As a result of the ongoing investigation, on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, Median JACKSON, age 32 of Brampton, was charged with the following Criminal Code offences:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Robbery using firearm (restricted or prohibited), section 344(1)(a) &#8211; three counts<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Kidnapping while using firearm &#8211; confine, section 279(1.1)(a.1)&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Forcible confinement, section 279(2) &#8211; two counts<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Assault with a weapon, section 267(a)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Pointing a firearm, section 87<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Firearm &#8211; use while committing offence, section 85(1)(a)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, section 88<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Theft of a motor vehicle, section 333.1<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Conspiracy to commit indictable offence, section 465(1)(c)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The accused remains in custody and is scheduled to appear for a bail hearing before the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on Wednesday, February 25, 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Investigators believe additional suspects, who may be armed and dangerous, remain at-large. The OPP urges the public to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious activity to police.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Huntsville OPP Crime Unit is continuing the investigation under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Anyone with any information that may assist this investigation is asked to contact the Huntsville OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
