Cancer Screening for Unattached Patients\u00a0is hosted by\u00a0Dr. Melanie Mar, Family Physician at The Annex Clinic for unattached patients,lLead physician, Algonquin Family Health Team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>ABOUT THE EVENT<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A presentation on the value of cancer screening and who is eligible.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A safe space for women who want to discuss and arrange a Pap\/HPV test or<br>mammogram to check for early signs of cervical or breast cancer.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>An opportunity for men and women to discuss and arrange for colon cancer screening.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Refreshments will be provided.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>WHO CAN ATTEND?<\/strong><br>Patients who do not have a primary care provider in Muskoka and:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>If you are 25-69 yrs old, have a cervix, have ever been sexually active; have never had<br>cervical screening; or have not had a Pap test in the last 3 years, then a\u00a0Pap\/HPV test<br>is recommended.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you are a 40-74-year-old woman, Two-Spirit, trans, or non-binary person, have never had<br>a mammogram; or have not had one in the last 2 years, then a\u00a0mammogram may be<br>recommended.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you are a 50-74-year-old person who has not had a stool test in the past 2 years or a<br>colonoscopy in the past 10 years, then a fecal-immunochemical test (FIT) may be<br>recommended.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>ANY unattached patient in the Muskoka and Almaguin area who wants to learn more<br>about cancer screening and community services for people without a doctor or nurse<br>practitioner.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>HOW CAN I GET THERE?<\/strong><br>We\u2019re happy to help you get to the event. Transportation support is available.
