{"id":212322,"date":"2025-12-10T09:00:00","date_gmt":"2025-12-10T14:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/doppleronline.ca\/huntsville\/?p=212322"},"modified":"2025-12-11T20:13:58","modified_gmt":"2025-12-12T01:13:58","slug":"heather-eileen-thomspon-lavallee","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/doppleronline.ca\/huntsville\/heather-eileen-thomspon-lavallee\/","title":{"rendered":"Heather Eileen Thompson-Lavallee"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Heather Eileen Thompson, who died peacefully with her beloved husband, Ray (Raymond) Lavallee, by her side on Friday, December 5, 2025, at the age of 69, at Pembroke Regional Hospital.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Heather was predeceased by her parents, Diana (Piper) and Edward Thompson.\u00a0\u00a0She was the loving sister of Donna Smith (Tom) of Huntsville and Brent Thompson of Orillia, and a devoted aunt to Thompson Smith (Jennie) and Jenny Smith (Matt), as well as a cherished great-aunt.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Heather will be lovingly remembered by Ray\u2019s children, Erin and Evan Lavallee (Laura), and by grandchildren Frankie, Lucy, Andrew, Quinn, Charlie, and Jaymee. She will also be fondly remembered by sisters-in-law Mary Anne Fleming and Nancy Myer, along with many relatives and lifelong friends, including Lori, Barb, Sue, Deb, Sherry, and Kathy.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Known affectionately as \u201cH.T.\u201d, Heather dedicated her career to broadcasting, working in Huntsville, Timmins, North Bay, and Orillia.\u00a0\u00a0Beyond her professional life, she gave generously of her time and energy to charitable causes, most notably helping to establish Gilda\u2019s Club Barrie and the Terry Fox Chapter, supporting cancer patients and their families. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Heather\u2019s warmth, compassion, and ability to connect with people will be forever remembered by all who knew her.\u00a0\u00a0Her family extends heartfelt thanks to the doctors, nurses, and staff of Pembroke Regional Hospital for their care, with special gratitude to nurse Bethany.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cremation has taken place.
