On Thursday, December 11, 2025, at 6 p.m., join Huntsville High School students at the Algonquin Theatre for a whimsical reinvention of Charles Dickens’ most beloved Christmas story in wacky rhymed couplets in the style of Dr. Seuss.<\/p>\n\n\n

<\/broadstreet-zone><\/strong><\/div>\n\n\n\n

This one-act play, put on by Grade 11 and 12 drama class students, is a delightful ride for all ages! After a brief intermission, you will enjoy performances from HHS vocal music students. Also joining them on the stage will be some community singers, a children’s choir, and the incredibly talented pianist Kyung-A Allen. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It will be a wonderful evening of festive fun celebrating the talent of young people in our community. The play lasts about 45 minutes and will be followed by a 20 minute intermission. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The second act is comprised of vocal performances, culminating in a mass choir featuring local talent ranging in age from 7 to 70!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“The students have been involved in every aspect of this production from set design to props creation, sewing costumes to sound effects, advertising to acting. It’s been a wonderful team effort and a great opportunity for students to see all the different roles and tasks involved in putting on a production,” said HHS drama and music teacher Nicole Taylor. “This will be a wonderful evening of theatre and music for young children and grown-ups alike! Come and support our talented and hardworking students!”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tylor said the ticket prices have been kept as low as possible in the hopes of making it affordable for everyone. If you are interested in attending and cannot afford a ticket, you can email her at nicole.taylor@tldsb.on.ca<\/a>  and she will see if they can save a spot for you. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Our high school students have been collaborating with local singers from different community choirs in preparation for our concert. It has been wonderful for our students to experience singing in a larger ensemble and with more experienced singers. Music has the power to unite people across all ages and I think everyone in the audience will really feel that as they hear us sing together.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Seussified Christmas Carol <\/em>by Peter Bloedel is being directed by Nicole Taylor, performed by the Huntsville High School senior drama class with vocal performances by the Huntsville High School vocal music class. The performance is approximately 90 minutes with an intermission of 20 minutes. <\/p>\n\n\n
