It\u2019s got to keep going without me.\u201d<br \/>\n<\/em>-Terry Fox, July 10, 1980<\/p>\n<div style=\"float: left; margin-right: 14px;\"><strong> <broadstreet-zone zone-id=\"45658\" keywords=\"\" soft-keywords=\"true\" zone-alias=\"\"><\/broadstreet-zone><\/strong><\/div>\n<p>He was a young man with a dream but Terry Fox could never have predicted then just how far people would keep going in his honour. He had a goal to raise one dollar for every Canadian &#8211; $22 million then \u2013 and 36 years later the Terry Fox Foundation has raised more than $700 million to fund innovative cancer research.<\/p>\n<p>It wouldn\u2019t be as successful as it is without the efforts of local volunteer groups \u2013 more than 9000 world-wide \u2013 who host community and school Terry Fox Runs every year. In Huntsville, all three run distances \u2013 1km, 5km and 10km \u2013 start and end at Huntsville High School.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey are the same wonderful routes that give participants great vistas of our town,\u201d says event organizer, Bill Coon. Healthy snacks will await participants post-run.<\/p>\n<p>Last year, 300 people raised almost $40,000 for the Terry Fox Foundation. They were supported by just over 100 volunteers.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"modern-quote full\"><p>Each year on Terry Fox Day, I can hardly contain my pride. If people come out they will feel so proud of their town.<br \/>\n<cite>Bill Coon, local Terry Fox Run organizer<\/cite><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Will you help keep Terry&#8217;s dream going this year? There\u2019s still time to sign up to run, walk, bike or blade any of the distances.
