It’s hard to say goodbye to summer, but the smell of pumpkin lattes, fall colours, and the Town of Huntsville’s Fall programming is something to look forward to.<\/p>\n\n\n

<\/broadstreet-zone><\/strong><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Fall is almost here and with it comes a new suite of sport, recreation, and creative programming at the Town of Huntsville and Huntsville Public Library!  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Town registration for pre-registered programs opens on Thursday, September 11, 2025,<\/strong> at 8:30 a.m. online or in-person with new schedules available for a variety of drop-in programs. Huntsville Public Library<\/strong>\u2019s Kids, Tween, and Teen program registration opens on Wednesday, September 3, 2025<\/strong>, at 10:00 a.m. by phone or in-person. Registration for adult programming at the library is open.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Town Fall Program Highlights: <\/strong>
 
In addition to your favourite adult fitness and yoga classes, new this fall we have teamed up with Community Living Huntsville to offer adults an Accessible and Adaptive Fitness & Games<\/strong> program on Wednesdays from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m<\/strong>., and Hope Arises Project Inc. on a half-day Drum Making Workshop<\/strong> on October 2<\/strong> with Metis Edler Ronald Surette (limited spaces are available). In addition to our regular drop-in programs at the 55+ Active Living Centre, we are hosting a Healthy Active Living Expo<\/strong> presented in partnership with Muskoka Seniors on October 9<\/strong> and a Thanksgiving Lunch on October 10<\/strong>. For youth, Girls\u2019 Volleyball, Leadership Club,<\/strong> and Teen Sport Conditioning <\/strong>are all new this season! September is also the time to register for PA Day and Holiday Camps<\/strong>; don\u2019t wait as they fill up quickly!  There are camps for both the public and catholic school boards. New to the suite of Centennial Pool programming is the Junior Lifeguard Club<\/strong>, designed for swimmers aged 8 to 15. The program builds on the basics of swimming with rescue drills, first aid challenges, endurance swims and more to help develop skills that serve as a precursor to the Lifeguarding Course. Swimming lessons and leadership courses for adult and youth run from September to December \u2013 learn more at huntsville.ca<\/a>.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the arena, adults and youth can lace up their skates for a variety of drop-in programs including a new drop-in Figure Skating<\/strong> on Fridays<\/strong> from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.<\/strong> and Shinny for 76+<\/strong> on Tuesdays <\/strong>and Thursdays<\/strong> from 1:00 p.m. to 1:50 p.m.<\/strong> New fall schedules for skating and shinny are available at huntsville.ca<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cultural Program Highlights:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Take in Huntsville\u2019s vibrant art scene with seasonal exhibits at the Canada Summit Centre and the Algonquin Theatre\u2019s Partners Hall. Starting October 1<\/strong>, the Canada Summit Centre will feature works by the Muskoka North Studio Tour Group. The monthly rotation of artists in Partners Hall includes Tom Clark, Martin Foley, Andrea Taylor, and Lisa Mcllmoyle.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Algonquin Theatre also has an exciting fall line-up with incredible shows for all ages and interests. Tributes galore and Yuk Yuks on Tour are just some of what you will find on sale at the Theatre.  Hope Arises Project Inc. is bringing their Gala of Hope<\/strong> to the Theatre on October 24<\/strong>, a one-of-a-kind culturally immersive experience and fundraising event. Old Man Luedecke<\/strong> takes the stage on September 13<\/strong> and Huntsville Sports Hall of Fame Induction Night<\/strong> is September 20<\/strong>, plus stay tuned for more information on our new Parent and Tot movie matinees. Join members of the Library, Hope Arises Project Inc. and the Town of Huntsville for the Orange Shirt Day March and Gathering<\/strong> on September 30<\/strong>. The march leaves River Mill Park at 11:00 a.m<\/strong>., traveling along Main Street E to Brunel Road, before returning to River Mill Park. 
 <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Muskoka Heritage Place is alive with events and activities this fall with Voices in the Village<\/strong> on September 19 and 27<\/strong>, the Heritage Fall Fair<\/strong> on October 4 to 6<\/strong>, the Fall Art Walk <\/strong>and Thanksgiving Train<\/strong> on October 12<\/strong>. For those with little ghouls and goblins, be sure to take in The Great Pumpkin Trail<\/strong> on October 31<\/strong> for a safe and traffic-free trick-or-treat experience.  Learn more about our seasonal programs at muskokaheritageplace.ca<\/a>.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fall Library Highlights: <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Huntsville Public Library is also brimming with lots of amazing programming for all ages! Swing by the library for our Fall into Reading<\/strong> program on September 23<\/strong>. This early literacy evening is catered to families with children ages 0 to 6, and is in partnership with Community Living Huntsville and SMILE Sandy\u2019s Mindful Interactive Life Experiences. Celebrate spooky season with a Clue Themed Murder Mystery<\/strong> on October 25<\/strong> in partnership with the Huntsville Theatre Company. For those new to the area, plan to drop in to the library\u2019s Welcome Wednesdays<\/strong> to connect to a range of services and resources including schools, to employment, recreation programs, housing and more. Dates include October 8, November 5, and December 3.<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n
