She begins in her new role on August 25th.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAfter an extensive and thorough recruitment process, the Board of Trustees is delighted to welcome Kimberly Dixon to Simcoe Muskoka Catholic as the new Director of Education,\u201d said Maria Hardie, Board Chair.\u201d Our Board continues to grow and in particular we are welcoming many students and families from the Greater Toronto Area \u2013 Kimberly\u2019s experiences as an educator and leader from Toronto Catholic will be a great benefit. In addition to a wealth of experience, I am confident that Kimberly\u2019s strong leadership, deep faith and positive energy will serve our system well.\u201d&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI am excited to join the Simcoe Muskoka Catholic community and I look forward to connecting with the staff, students, families and parishes I will serve in the coming years,\u201d said Director of Education Kimberly Dixon. \u201cI consider myself a lifelong learner and I am humbled to have this opportunity to lead, learn and grow at SMCDSB.\u201d&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In her 25 years at TCDSB, Kimberly served as teacher, vice principal, principal and superintendent. She has a strong background in science and mathematics and was privileged to lead the launch of TCDSB\u2019s first Mathematics Achievement Action Plan, which has been met with tremendous success. Kimberly values student achievement, equity and positive mental health and well-being. She is a faithful member of her home parish.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cKimberly has made a lasting impact at the Toronto Catholic District School Board through her unwavering commitment to student success. From the classroom to senior leadership, she helped shape programs that strengthened student learning. Her leadership contributed to improved math outcomes for our students and is one of the reasons our Board continues to score above the provincial average.
