As an engineer and lifelong learner, he approached life and its end with thoughtful care and courage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Never one for fanfare, Alex touched lives through his wisdom, kindness, and steady presence. His legacy lives on in the thoughtful choices he made and the quiet support he offered to so many.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, with his heart rooted most deeply in his love for his wife, Janice. Together they shared a beautiful marriage built on respect, shared interests, and an unwavering bond.&nbsp; They did everything together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To his daughter, Cheryl Perry, he was a steady champion and source of strength. Their love, often unspoken, ran deep and proud. He was also deeply grateful for his son-in-law, Mitch, whose quiet support brought him peace and comfort.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>His greatest joy came from being a grandfather to Ryan (Kylee) and Scott. Watching them grow filled him with pride and happiness. His love for them was steadfast and enduring.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Alex was the eldest of two siblings: Velma Olynik (predeceased) and Marilyn Harwood.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In keeping with his wishes, there will be no service. The family invites you to honour Alex in the quiet, thoughtful ways he lived through love, kindness, and care for others.
