{"id":190227,"date":"2025-05-02T14:19:25","date_gmt":"2025-05-02T18:19:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/doppleronline.ca\/huntsville\/?p=190227"},"modified":"2025-05-02T14:19:27","modified_gmt":"2025-05-02T18:19:27","slug":"gordon-gordo-reeves","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/doppleronline.ca\/huntsville\/gordon-gordo-reeves\/","title":{"rendered":"Gordon \u201cGordo\u201d Reeves"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>In Loving Memory of Gordon \u201cGordo\u201d Reeves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With heavy hearts but grateful spirits, we say goodbye to our father, Gordon Henry Reeves-known fondly by most as \u201cGordo\u201d.\u00a0 He passed away peacefully\u00a0in his sleep\u00a0on March 20, 2025, in the caring hands of the Renfrew Hospital Palliative Care Unit.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Born January 31, 1941, Gordo was a man who lived big \u2013 with laughter that filled a room, a twinkle in his eye and a heart that never stopped giving.&nbsp; Whether you knew him for five minutes or fifty years, chances are you were treated to one of the classic one-liners or wrapped in one of his warm, genuine bear hugs.&nbsp; Gordo was many things: a devoted husband, a proud father and grandfather, a loyal friend and a pillar of his community.&nbsp; He found joy in giving back-serving through the seniors\u2019 club, the Black Hats, the Milford Bay Fire Department, recreation committees and anywhere else a helping hand was needed.&nbsp; If something needed doing, Gordo was your guy, usually with a chuckle and \u201cWell, let\u2019s get to it then!\u201d.&nbsp; Though we are heartbroken, we also find peace in knowing that Gordo is now reunited with our beloved mom, Jan Reeves-his partner in crime, dance and everything in between.&nbsp; Since suffering a stroke following COVID, Dad fought hard with the same spirit he brought&nbsp;to everything&nbsp;in life.&nbsp; Now he rests-finally free, finally at peace.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A celebration of Life will be held on June 22, 2025 at the Milford Bay Community Centre from 2-4pm for both Jan and Gordon Reeves.&nbsp; For now we hold him close in our hearts and smile knowing how lucky we were to call him ours.&nbsp; We love you Dad.&nbsp; And we always will.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<h5 style=\"text-align: center;\">Don\u2019t miss out on Doppler!<\/h5>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Sign up <a href=\"https:\/\/doppleronline.ca\/huntsville\/dont-miss-out-on-doppler\/\"><u>here<\/u><\/a> to receive our email digest with links to our most recent stories.<br \/>\nLocal news in your inbox so you don&#8217;t miss anything!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a style=\"background: #5cb85c url('https:\/\/d1iczxrky3cnb2.cloudfront.net\/red_logo.png') no-repeat 37px; color: #fff; text-decoration: none; font-family: Verdana,sans-serif; display: inline-block; font-size: 16px; padding: 15px 38px; padding-left: 75px; -webkit-border-radius: 2px; -moz-border-radius: 2px; border-radius: 2px; box-shadow: 0 1px 0 0 #1f5a89; text-shadow: 0 1px rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.3);\" href=\"https:\/\/donorbox.org\/support-huntsville-doppler\">Click here to support local news<\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><broadstreet-zone zone-id=\"45657\" keywords=\"\" soft-keywords=\"true\" zone-alias=\"\"><\/broadstreet-zone>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In Loving Memory of Gordon \u201cGordo\u201d Reeves.
