{"id":189929,"date":"2025-04-28T13:32:48","date_gmt":"2025-04-28T17:32:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/doppleronline.ca\/huntsville\/?p=189929"},"modified":"2025-04-28T13:32:50","modified_gmt":"2025-04-28T17:32:50","slug":"district-making-inroads-on-long-term-care-staffing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/doppleronline.ca\/huntsville\/district-making-inroads-on-long-term-care-staffing\/","title":{"rendered":"District making inroads on Long Term Care staffing\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>It appears that District recruitment efforts are paying off at local Long Term Care (LTC) homes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the recent Health Services Committee meeting, Norm Barrette, the District Commissioner of Health Services, provided an update on staffing and recruitment efforts at Muskoka\u2019s long-term care homes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/southmuskoka-media-doppleronline-ca.s3-accelerate.amazonaws.com\/2025\/04\/0iWKrPo0-image.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-125579\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Barrette shared encouraging statistics, revealing improvements in staffing levels. In previous years, the District faced significant staffing shortages, leading to increased dependence on temporary staffing agencies and rising costs. However, recent recruitment initiatives have successfully filled many of these positions.<\/p>\n\n\n<div style=\"float: left; margin-right: 14px;\"><strong><broadstreet-zone zone-id=\"45658\" keywords=\"\" soft-keywords=\"true\" zone-alias=\"\"><\/broadstreet-zone><\/strong><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>At the Pines in Bracebridge, Muskoka\u2019s largest long-term care facility, unfilled shifts have now reached record low levels.
