{"id":182212,"date":"2024-11-28T21:12:26","date_gmt":"2024-11-29T02:12:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/doppleronline.ca\/huntsville\/?p=182212"},"modified":"2024-11-28T22:00:28","modified_gmt":"2024-11-29T03:00:28","slug":"registered-nurses-and-nurse-practitioners","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/doppleronline.ca\/huntsville\/registered-nurses-and-nurse-practitioners\/","title":{"rendered":"Ontario expanding the role of nurse practitioners and registered nurses"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"float: left; margin-right: 14px;\"><strong><broadstreet-zone zone-id=\"45658\" keywords=\"\" soft-keywords=\"true\" zone-alias=\"\"><\/broadstreet-zone><\/strong><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The Ontario government announced today that upcoming regulation changes will expand the scope\u00a0of practice for nurse practitioners and registered nurses to order more tests and provide additional services in a variety of settings including hospitals, interprofessional primary care teams and long-term care homes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cOntario is proud to be home to world-class health care professionals and our government continues to make innovative changes to allow them to work to the full extent of their expertise and training,\u201d said Sylvia Jones, Deputy Premier and Minister of Health. \u201cExpanding the roles of highly skilled nurse practitioners and registered nurses is another step our government is taking to provide more people with the right care, in the right place.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the province, scope of practice changes will improve access to care, especially for Indigenous communities and those living in rural, northern and remote areas of the province.
