Huntsville and Muskoka musicians, bands, duos, and singer-songwriters are encouraged to consider submitting applications and proposals to the Amy Louie Grossman\u2019s Music Scholarship. Applications are accepted until September 23, 2024. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Established in 2012, the Amy Louie Grossman\u2019s Music Scholarship was created by the Louie family, owners of Grossman\u2019s Tavern, in memory of Amy Louie, a cherished member of the family and the business. Amy\u2019s vision was to support local musicians, and this scholarship, valued at $2,000 CAD, aims to fulfill her dream by providing vital funding to help artists further their careers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Huntsville band The Swingin’ Blackjacks, fronted and led by local music favourite Matt Allen, won the scholarship in 2018 and used the funds to remix and redistribute their EP, \u2018Hi-Fi Sound.\u2019 Allen is renowned for his mix of blues, swing, and rockabilly and tours endlessly throughout Muskoka.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bands are famously underfinanced, and an artist development bursary\/scholarship such as this is a bonus. Perhaps using the funds for publicity or other elements of a music project. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Grossman\u2019s, the famous Toronto tavern, has been a ground and vital supporter of the Canadian music scene for decades. Well known bands such as the Downchild Blues Band and the Jeff Healy Band cut their teeth with rumpus Saturday night shows. Grossman\u2019s Tavern continuous to provide the highest quality of performance in the city. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Amy Louie Grossman\u2019s Music Scholarship has been successful in finding and helping musicians for over a decade. Muskoka bands are encouraged to consider applying.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Applications for 2024 are now open and close on September 23, 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All submissions will be considered. A full explanation of the project and the need for funding must be included as part of the application. The proposal criteria should include the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
