The<\/em> Edge of the Woods Theatre Company<\/em> is proud to announce its performance line-up for the 2016 Edge of the Woods Theatre Festival: Muskoka\u2019s new Summer Festival of intimate and interactive theatre performances for all ages.<\/p>\n

<\/broadstreet-zone><\/strong><\/div>\n

From July 5-27, 2016<\/span><\/strong>, audiences will experience a program of adventurous and entertaining professional theatre and music in the heart of Huntsville. Five hilarious and heart felt productions from award-winning artists will be presented at the Chaffey Studio Theatre. The festival will also feature activities for youth including a week-long Summer Drama Camp for youth ages 8-12 and technical production training for young people ages 14-21 (click here for details<\/a><\/span>).<\/p>\n

\u201cLive performance is more than just what happens on stage. It\u2019s what happens between people,\u201d says Artistic Producer Dan Watson. \u201cOur Festival\u2019s programming will offer a welcoming creative space for people of all ages, cultures and abilities to meet, connect and discover together. In addition to our productions and youth initiatives, community members can participate in free interactive arts activities and events, engaging and inspiring talks, and shared community meals. Details of these free events will be announced soon.\u201d<\/p>\n

The 2016 programming features five different productions:<\/p>\n

\"Snack<\/p>\n

First up is Snack Music<\/strong> (July 5-7<\/span>)<\/em> presented by Snafu Dance Theatre<\/strong>. Part house party, part puppet show, Snack Music<\/em> weaves together true stories from three performer\u2019s lives with true stories from the audience using improvised puppetry and music.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\"SelfNext on the program is Self-Exile<\/strong> (July 12<\/span>)<\/em> written and performed by Huntsville native Nisha Coleman<\/strong>. Presented in partnership with the Huntsville Festival of the Arts<\/strong>, this gritty and clever auto-biography traces Nisha\u2019s life starting from a swamp in Muskoka and winding its way through the streets of Paris.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\"SplashAfter this, the hit comedy SplasH2<\/sub>0<\/strong> will make its triumphant return to Huntsville July 19-24<\/em>. Presented by Edge of the Woods Theatre<\/strong>, this all ages award winning physical sketch comedy celebrates the whit and whimsy of water in our everyday lives using clown, slapstick, mime and the absurd.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\"DoubleThe final week of programming will feature two music-related performances. On July 26<\/span><\/em>, the Studio Theatre will be turned into an old time dance hall as The Double Cuts<\/strong> bring a 20-pc orchestra assembled to honour the legacy of Frank Sinatra. Let Us Be Frank<\/strong> reproduces the dazzling arrangements and music behind history’s greatest crooner.<\/p>\n

\"KeithFinally, Suit Case in Point<\/strong> Theatre<\/strong> Presents their hit show The Keith Richards One Woman Show <\/strong>(July 27<\/span>)<\/em>. Rolling Stones fans will rejoice as the show takes a \u201ctrip\u201d through Keith’s life from boyhood to drug-bust (Toronto, 1977) including run-ins withMick Jagger, Anita Pallenberg, Gram Parsons and a giant tongue. After the show, the Etwell Concert Series<\/strong> will present legendary father and son Blues duo Tobin and Bill Spring <\/strong>as they lead Huntsville\u2019s most prolific players in a sweaty set of Rolling Stones\u2019 tunes.<\/p>\n
