Members of the Orillia Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) say they have arrested two suspects, one from South River and the other from Orillia, in connection with a robbery in the City of Orillia.<\/p>\n\n\n

<\/broadstreet-zone><\/strong><\/div>\n\n\n\n

\u00a0On June 4, 2024, shortly after 11:00 p.m., officers received a call that a female had robbed a victim at a local business parking lot in the area Murphy Rd in Orillia. An unknown female suspect at the time approached the victim, demanding all her property.\u00a0When the victim would not comply, she was assaulted, receiving several serious but non-life-threatening injuries.\u00a0The victim was treated at a local area hospital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Shortly after, Officers were dispatched to a break-in at an address on Mississaga Street E. Once on the scene, officers located a male fitting the description of the suspect and placed him under arrest. Upon searching the male, several items related to the robbery belonging to the victim were found in the suspect’s possession.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Upon further investigation, specifically through witness account, police were able to identify a female suspect.\u00a0At approximately 4 p.m. on June 5, 2024, police received a call for a number of suspicious persons in a parking lot in the area of Coldwater Rd in the City of Orillia.\u00a0At this time, police attended and located the female suspect, placing her under arrest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a result of the investigation, the following individuals have been arrested and charged:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mark FAGAN, age 37, of South River, has been charged with:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Robbery with violence<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing on June 5, 2024, at the Ontario Court of Justice, Barrie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jessica KING, age 30, of Orillia<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Adult Robbery with Violence<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Adult Uttering Threats – Cause death or Bodily Harm<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Adult Assault Cause Bodily Harm – Choke, suffocate or strangle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Adult Poss of a Schedule I Substance – Methamphetamine<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing on June 6, 2024, at the Ontario Court of Justice, Barrie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
