Officers arrived and their initial investigation determined that the vehicle had been reported stolen the day prior from an address in Hamilton, ON. Police arrested and charged 32-year-old Stephen SEWELL of North Bay, ON with:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000 CC 355(a)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000 CC 354(1)(a) X 3<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Possession of a Prohibited Device or Ammunition CC 92(2) X 7<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition contrary to Prohibition Order CC 117.01(1) X 7<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Possession of a Schedule I Substance \u2013 Methamphetamine CDSA 4(1)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Careless Driving HTA 130(1)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Police have also charged 36-year-old Venessa LAURIN of North Bay, ON with:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000 CC 355(a)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000 CC 354(1)(a) X 3<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Possession of a Prohibited Device or Ammunition CC 92(2) X 7<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Possession of a Schedule I Substance \u2013 Methamphetamine CDSA 4(1)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The accused persons were held in custody and will appear for a bail hearing in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on Friday May 17, 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Information from concerned and attentive members of the public is key in efforts to improve community safety.
