Don\u2019t miss out on a chance to participate. This year it will take place in both Bracebridge and Huntsville to ensure even greater participation and awareness. If you can\u2019t make it on the day, you can still participate and walk virtually at a time best suited for you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So many more Canadians are living with dementia than ever before. It is estimated that nearly 300,000 Ontarians live with this disease and the numbers are growing. Locally we have over 30% of our population who are over the age of 65 and we know this is a risk factor for dementia. Hosting these walks in both Bracebridge and Huntsville will help raise the needed awareness and funds to support those living with dementia and their caregivers locally.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Historically, the walk has been the organization\u2019s biggest fundraiser and brings over 100 volunteers out in support of the Alzheimer Society of Muskoka. The IG Wealth Management Walk for Alzheimer\u2019s will take place on May 25 in Bracebridge and May 26 in Huntsville and will host community members, donors, volunteers, other health services providers, and the public. &nbsp; This is a fun event where the hope is for all to engage and support reducing the stigmas related to a dementia diagnosis. The events will start at noon. There will be opening ceremonies, free BBQ, prizes for participants, children activities, a pet area and community spirit.
