Three groups of ten and four little ones. In other words, 34 wonderful years.<\/p>\n

And now it\u2019s time to say goodbye.<\/p>\n

Sharon Stahls is getting ready to begin a new chapter in her life: retirement. The upbeat and bubbly principal of Irwin Memorial Public School just so happens to have spent all of her years teaching in Muskoka. She\u2019s built a lot of memories and touched so many lives with her genuine love and appreciation for kids.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s bittersweet for sure,\u201d she says about her upcoming retirement at the end of June. \u201cBut you know, it\u2019s all good. Do you want to know how I knew it was time? I would be driving home, on a beautiful fall day, after picking up my dog at 5 p.m. and I\u2019d be looking at Mary Lake, and it\u2019s as flat as a pancake, and I\u2019d be thinking that I should be out in my kayak\u2026 I should be paddling. Or the leaves would be changing colours and I would be thinking about how I should be out on the golf course\u2026 that I should be golfing.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\t\t
