{"id":148484,"date":"2024-01-07T19:52:14","date_gmt":"2024-01-08T00:52:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/doppleronline.ca\/rwddev\/?p=148484"},"modified":"2024-01-07T19:52:21","modified_gmt":"2024-01-08T00:52:21","slug":"muskoka-man-charged-for-allegedly-fleeing-from-the-scene-of-an-accident","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/doppleronline.ca\/huntsville\/muskoka-man-charged-for-allegedly-fleeing-from-the-scene-of-an-accident\/","title":{"rendered":"Muskoka man charged for allegedly fleeing from the scene of an accident"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>On January 1, 2024, at approximately 12:15 a.m. Bracebridge OPP officers, along with the Gravenhurst Fire Department, responded to reports of a vehicle that had left the roadway on Beiers Road in Gravenhurst and caught on fire. Nearby residents came out of their home and assisted one occupant, however, the driver fled after the call to police was made.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bracebridge OPP officers along with assistance from the OPP K-9 Unit and the Emergency Response Team (ERT) searched the area but were unable to locate the driver. An investigation ensued and police have charged 38-year-old Daniel BARNES of Gravenhurst with the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Dangerous Operation CC 320.13(1)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Failure to Stop after Accident CC 320.16(1)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The accused is also charged with Highway Traffic Act and Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act offences.
