{"id":145835,"date":"2023-10-31T18:00:00","date_gmt":"2023-10-31T22:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/doppleronline.ca\/rwddev\/?p=145835"},"modified":"2023-10-31T18:25:17","modified_gmt":"2023-10-31T22:25:17","slug":"ontario-proposes-extension-to-gas-and-fuel-tax-cuts-to-june-30-2024","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/doppleronline.ca\/huntsville\/ontario-proposes-extension-to-gas-and-fuel-tax-cuts-to-june-30-2024\/","title":{"rendered":"Ontario proposes extension to gas and fuel tax cuts to June 30, 2024"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"float: left; margin-right: 14px;\"><strong><broadstreet-zone zone-id=\"45658\" keywords=\"\" soft-keywords=\"true\" zone-alias=\"\"><\/broadstreet-zone><\/strong><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>To help Ontario families and businesses keep costs down, the Ontario government will be proposing legislation through its upcoming 2023 Fall Economic Statement that would, if passed, extend the gasoline and fuel tax rate cuts to June 30, 2024, saving households $260 on average since the tax cuts were first introduced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe know that every dollar helps, and this gas tax cut is another way we\u2019re keeping costs down for Ontario families and businesses,\u201d said Premier Doug Ford. \u201cAs we continue to deal with lingering inflation, our government is continuing to provide people and businesses relief at the pumps for another six months.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since July 1, 2022, Ontario has lowered the gasoline tax by 5.7 cents per litre and the fuel tax by 5.3 cents per litre.
