{"id":142234,"date":"2023-08-16T08:15:08","date_gmt":"2023-08-16T12:15:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/doppleronline.ca\/rwddev\/?p=142234"},"modified":"2023-08-16T08:15:10","modified_gmt":"2023-08-16T12:15:10","slug":"impaired-huntsville-driver-tasered-on-highway-11","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/doppleronline.ca\/huntsville\/impaired-huntsville-driver-tasered-on-highway-11\/","title":{"rendered":"Impaired Huntsville driver  tasered on Highway 11"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"float: left; margin-right: 14px;\"><strong><broadstreet-zone zone-id=\"45658\" keywords=\"\" soft-keywords=\"true\" zone-alias=\"\"><\/broadstreet-zone><\/strong><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>A Huntsville driver\u2019s terrifying behaviour landed him behind bars, a Bracebridge court heard recently.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Andrew Rostan-Aellan, 30, recently pled guilty to assault, impaired driving, resisting a peace officer and dangerous operation of a vehicle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Court heard that on May 19, 2023, at roughly 8 pm, the Huntsville OPP received a call regarding a suspicious vehicle. The caller said a man, later identified as Rostan-Aellan, appeared to be heavily intoxicated and was yelling at a woman driving the vehicle and telling her that he wanted to drive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The caller intervened and the woman exited the vehicle. Rostan-Aellan left in the vehicle but subsequently crashed into a pole. He then drove towards the caller and the woman who had to get out of the way to avoid being struck, court heard.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The police were able to contact Rostan-Aellan by phone but he threatened to stab them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The police then received multiple calls about a driver on Hwy 11, which turned out to be Rostan-Aellan.
