{"id":138366,"date":"2023-05-19T11:14:56","date_gmt":"2023-05-19T15:14:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/doppleronline.ca\/rwddev\/?p=138366"},"modified":"2023-05-20T10:29:09","modified_gmt":"2023-05-20T14:29:09","slug":"water-safety-conditions-statement-extended-until-may-26","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/doppleronline.ca\/huntsville\/water-safety-conditions-statement-extended-until-may-26\/","title":{"rendered":"Water Safety Conditions Statement extended until May 26"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry is advising area residents that a Watershed Conditions Statement \u2013 Water Safety Bulletin is in effect in the district until Friday, May 26, 2023. <\/p>\n\n\n<div style=\"float: left; margin-right: 14px;\"><strong><broadstreet-zone zone-id=\"45658\" keywords=\"\" soft-keywords=\"true\" zone-alias=\"\"><\/broadstreet-zone><\/strong><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>This message will affect residents within the MNRF Bracebridge Minden Parry Sound District for portions of the District of Parry Sound, District of Muskoka, County of Haliburton and City of Kawartha Lakes within the Black River, Burnt River, French River, Gull River, Magnetawan River, and Muskoka River Watersheds. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Water levels and river flows have generally returned to normal for this time of year but are higher than levels and flows observed during the summer recreation season. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Boaters are advised to be cautious if traveling on local waterways. Boat traffic during spring conditions can cause damage to shorelines and to shoreline property with vessel wakes. The banks and shorelines adjacent to water bodies can be extremely slippery and unstable. Surface water temperatures are cool, as such residents and visitors should exercise caution while around waterbodies and maintain close supervision of children and pets. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>MNRF also advises extreme caution when using forest access roads for outdoor activities as they may become seasonally inundated with water, are prone to washouts and may become impassible due to localized flooding. The ministry is closely monitoring the weather and developing watershed conditions.
