The team raised more than $55,000.<\/p>\n<div style=\"float: left; margin-right: 14px;\"><strong> <broadstreet-zone zone-id=\"45658\" keywords=\"\" soft-keywords=\"true\" zone-alias=\"\"><\/broadstreet-zone><\/strong><\/div>\n<p>Robin died last September and Robin\u2019s Rebels want to honour her memory by continuing to raise money for cancer research.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe thought the best way to honour her is to simply help raise as much funds as we can for cancer research at Princess Margaret,\u201d said Robin\u2019s friend, Dr. Greg Stewart. \u201cWe\u2019ve opened it up \u2013 this year we have double the riders \u2013 and we\u2019re just trying to maximize the funds we raise can raise through the Ride to Conquer Cancer in her honour.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>This year David McGuey, Bill Coon, Ray Love, Dean Smales, and Greg Stewart, who all rode last year, will be joined by Kym Bice, Diane Gagnon, Susan Lang, Susan Love, John Rea, Charlene Stewart, and Jim Watson.<\/p>\n<p>On April 22, the group is hosting a silent art auction fundraiser at Hidden Valley Resort to raise money for the upcoming Ride. Open to everyone with free admission, the evening will include entertainment by Mike Degazio, appetizers and a silent auction featuring paintings, photos, woodwork, and jewelry donated by local artists plus a weekend getaway. (See the fundraiser poster below.)<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe live in an extremely generous town, as you know, and local artists have been extremely generous. This will be a very nice evening with some good food and some good music. Come and bring your friends.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>You can also make a donation on the team\u2019s Ride to Conquer Cancer fundraising page <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.conquercancer.ca\/site\/TR\/Events\/Toronto2016?team_id=76521&amp;pg=team&amp;fr_id=1561\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>The Ride to Conquer Cancer is a two-day cycling event (June 11-12, 2016) with routes spanning more than 200 kilometres between Toronto and Niagara Falls.<\/p>\n<p><em>Liked this story?
