{"id":133453,"date":"2023-03-02T14:05:06","date_gmt":"2023-03-02T19:05:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/doppleronline.ca\/rwddev\/?p=133453"},"modified":"2023-03-02T14:18:49","modified_gmt":"2023-03-02T19:18:49","slug":"rfp-to-be-issued-for-art-at-kent-park","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/doppleronline.ca\/huntsville\/rfp-to-be-issued-for-art-at-kent-park\/","title":{"rendered":"RFP to be issued for art at Kent Park"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n<div style=\"float: left; margin-right: 14px;\"><strong><broadstreet-zone zone-id=\"45658\" keywords=\"\" soft-keywords=\"true\" zone-alias=\"\"><\/broadstreet-zone><\/strong><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>At its March 1 General Committee meeting, councillors gave staff the green light to formulate and issue a request for proposals (RFP) for an art installation at Kent Park.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Council approved an amount not to exceed $25,000 for the project which will be coming out of the Town&#8217;s art acquisition reserve fund which currently contains $39,000. Those funds could be offset by any fundraising and sponsorship opportunities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Staff told councillors that consultation has taken place both with stakeholders and the community at large. The majority of respondents suggested that a request go out for submissions. A majority also noted that they&#8217;d like to see a local theme related to the area&#8217;s natural environment by a local artist\/s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Staff indicated that they would work with the Huntsville Arts Society (HAS) on an RFP, using the feedback they received from the community.
