The funding is part of the province\u2019s gas tax program which will allocate more than $379.5 million to help 107 municipalities operate and improve local transit. The funding for local communities is as follows:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Bracebridge \u2013 $154,309&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Huntsville \u2013 $176,865&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>District of Muskoka \u2013 $90,659&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Parry Sound \u2013 $57,624&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cOur government knows that municipal transit systems are essential to the success of our local communities, connecting people and families to jobs, housing and wherever they need to go,\u201d said Graydon Smith, MPP for Parry Sound-Muskoka. \u201cUnder Premier Ford\u2019s leadership, we continue to step up to the plate to provide the funding municipalities need to ensure transit remains a safe and reliable option in communities across Ontario.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Funding for the gas tax program is determined by the number of litres of gasoline sold in the province during the previous year.
