The funding is being delivered through the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/can01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com\/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ontario.ca%2Fpage%2Fontario-community-infrastructure-fund&amp;data=05%7C01%7Cdan.powers%40pc.ola.org%7C85da867661794f6a690208dade05e3a5%7C6b9fd2ec77a64ae0822a6bb9108fb274%7C0%7C0%7C638066414113221722%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C3000%7C%7C%7C&amp;sdata=xjV1c1nxST2%2FO3kYu4M5PLRf8%2FxFlqufwx0y1IhKw9I%3D&amp;reserved=0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Ontario Community Infrastructure Fund (OCIF)<\/span><\/a>&nbsp;and is part of the government\u2019s overall investment of $400 million in 2023.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cOur government is investing historic amounts into Parry Sound-Muskoka\u2019s community infrastructure,\u201d said MPP Graydon Smith, Parry Sound-Muskoka. \u201cThese dollars will have a meaningful impact for residents of our communities as they enable key projects to be built or upgraded, thereby enhancing quality of life and creating jobs and economic opportunity.\u201d&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>OCIF provides funding to eligible communities every year to help them address critical infrastructure needs, including road, bridge, water, and wastewater projects. By supporting key community infrastructure projects, we are helping to grow and build safer, more resilient communities for generations to come.\u201d&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In December 2021, the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/can01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com\/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fnews.ontario.ca%2Fen%2Frelease%2F1001298%2Fbuilding-ontario-with-investments-in-critical-infrastructure-for-small-rural-and-northern-communities&amp;data=05%7C01%7Cdan.powers%40pc.ola.org%7C85da867661794f6a690208dade05e3a5%7C6b9fd2ec77a64ae0822a6bb9108fb274%7C0%7C0%7C638066414113221722%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C3000%7C%7C%7C&amp;sdata=MeKZBHRpu3xcJscPBFempBHpiX%2F2FEdwzSYA2Dc9orU%3D&amp;reserved=0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Ontario government&nbsp;announced&nbsp;an additional $1 billion<\/span><\/a>&nbsp;for critical infrastructure projects that support economic growth and job creation in small, rural and northern communities, bringing the government\u2019s total investment to nearly $2 billion dollars over five years.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe are pleased to receive these funds for investment in our area roads and bridges. The OCIF continues to provide Huntsville with stable on-going funding for infrastructure in our community so that we can reduce the infrastructure gap and continue to provide quality services to our residents,\u201d<strong>&nbsp;<\/strong>said Huntsville Mayor Nancy Alcock. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>\u201cAs the new District Council gets down to business, it\u2019s good news that OCIF funding will again be available in 2023 to help maintain critical infrastructure in Muskoka, such as our drinking water systems.
