{"id":125915,"date":"2022-11-16T12:53:42","date_gmt":"2022-11-16T17:53:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/doppleronline.ca\/rwddev\/?p=125915"},"modified":"2022-11-17T16:59:23","modified_gmt":"2022-11-17T21:59:23","slug":"cupe-gives-notice-of-legal-strike-action-as-of-monday-nov-21","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/doppleronline.ca\/huntsville\/cupe-gives-notice-of-legal-strike-action-as-of-monday-nov-21\/","title":{"rendered":"CUPE gives notice of legal strike action as of Monday, Nov. 21"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Talks have once again broken down between the province of Ontario and the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) and CUPE has given notice today that they&#8217;ll be in a legal strike (full withdrawal of services) position starting Monday, November 21.<\/p>\n\n\n<div style=\"float: left; margin-right: 14px;\"><strong><broadstreet-zone zone-id=\"45658\" keywords=\"\" soft-keywords=\"true\" zone-alias=\"\"><\/broadstreet-zone><\/strong><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Trillium Lakelands District School Board (TLDSB) is not directly involved in the provincial negotiations and are hopeful that there will be a resolution before this Monday, stated TLDSB director of education on the board&#8217;s website today, November 16, 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;A reminder that in TLDSB, CUPE members include secretaries, clerks, technicians, custodial and maintenance staff, and educational assistants. These members are critical in keeping our school buildings and sites safe for students, not only for the cleanliness of our buildings, but for the support students receive each day. We respect and value our CUPE staff and are hopeful an agreement is met before Monday,&#8221; added Hahn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Should there be a full strike on Monday, TLDSB school buildings and worksites will be closed to students.
