{"id":125482,"date":"2022-11-10T11:11:48","date_gmt":"2022-11-10T16:11:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/doppleronline.ca\/rwddev\/?p=125482"},"modified":"2022-11-10T12:09:17","modified_gmt":"2022-11-10T17:09:17","slug":"vote-for-the-table-soup-kitchen-foundation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/doppleronline.ca\/huntsville\/vote-for-the-table-soup-kitchen-foundation\/","title":{"rendered":"Vote for the Table Soup Kitchen Foundation"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Table Soup Kitchen Foundation in Huntsville has been chosen as one of the top 12 recipients&nbsp;of iA Financial&#8217;s Philanthropic Contest.<\/p>\n\n\n<div style=\"float: left; margin-right: 14px;\"><strong><broadstreet-zone zone-id=\"45658\" keywords=\"\" soft-keywords=\"true\" zone-alias=\"\"><\/broadstreet-zone><\/strong><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>That means that The Table could receive from anywhere from $10,000 to&nbsp;$100,000 towards making its space more accessible for guests but only if it manages to get the required votes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;A donation of $100,000 would go towards helping us remove barriers to the hungry people who access our facility on a weekly basis. We own our building and need to ensure that people with walkers, wheelchairs and other challenges are able to access our space. We need automatic door openers, an accessible bathroom and a commercial chair lift for guests to reach the 2nd floor. Due to an increase in food costs and weekly visits, any money we had in our budget will have to be allocated to meet the direct food needs of our guests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;The people that we seek to help with this grant are those who come with visible or invisible disabilities. A lot of our guests are seniors who are struggling with rising costs and our building needs to be upgraded to meet their accessibility needs. We have many guests who have walkers or wheelchairs and struggle to access our building without the assistance of our staff,&#8221; states the Table on iA&#8217;s contest website. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Foundation is seeking the community&#8217;s help.
