{"id":122171,"date":"2022-09-26T20:32:18","date_gmt":"2022-09-27T00:32:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/doppleronline.ca\/rwddev\/?p=122171"},"modified":"2022-09-26T20:32:21","modified_gmt":"2022-09-27T00:32:21","slug":"charges-laid-in-historic-human-remains-case","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/doppleronline.ca\/huntsville\/charges-laid-in-historic-human-remains-case\/","title":{"rendered":"Charges laid in historic human remains case"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Twelve years after his murder, members of the Orillia Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charged a second person in relation to the death of 45-year-old Morris CONTE, who was reported missing in the Town of Caledon on May 21, 2010.<\/p>\n\n\n<div style=\"float: left; margin-right: 14px;\"><strong><broadstreet-zone zone-id=\"45658\" keywords=\"\" soft-keywords=\"true\" zone-alias=\"\"><\/broadstreet-zone><\/strong><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>On May 22, 2010, human remains were located in the Sugarbush area of Oro-Medonte Township and on Maplehurst Road in Lake of Bays Township. On May 28, 2010, human remains were also located on Stoneleigh Road in Bracebridge. A post-mortem examination revealed that the human remains located at these locations belonged to the same person, Morris CONTE.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One person was charged in July 2011 in connection with the death.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On September 26, 2022, a second person was arrested in relation to this ongoing investigation.
