New candidate files to run for Mayor of Lake of Bays"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It&#8217;s officially. There is now a race for the position of  Lake of Bays Mayor. Linda Thompson handed in her nomination papers before the deadline yesterday at 2 p.m.<\/p>\n\n\n<div style=\"float: left; margin-right: 14px;\"><strong><broadstreet-zone zone-id=\"45658\" keywords=\"\" soft-keywords=\"true\" zone-alias=\"\"><\/broadstreet-zone><\/strong><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Thompson, a Dwight resident, said she first discovered Lake of Bays in 1976 working for the Hancock family at the Spring Lake Motel and Restaurant. In 1982, she and Barry Thomspson bought their first home in Dwight, where they now live on a full-time basis.
