How do you respond to right-hand opponent (RHO) stealing your bid with the following hands?<\/p>\n\n\n<div style=\"float: left; margin-right: 14px;\"><strong><broadstreet-zone zone-id=\"45658\" keywords=\"\" soft-keywords=\"true\" zone-alias=\"\"><\/broadstreet-zone><\/strong><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"E217\"><strong>Case 1:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"E221\">Spades xx<br>Hearts xx<br>Diamonds AKQxxx<br>Clubs Kxx<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"E246\">Case 1: Partner opens 1NT. Your partnership may have a slam. You plan to introduce your diamonds by bidding Two Spades as a transfer to the minors. However, your RHO steals you bid. You counter with the double bid. This lets partner know it is a stolen bid and that you want to transfer to the minors. Partner dutifully bids Three Clubs and you correct to Three Diamonds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"E262\"><strong>Case 2:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"E264\">Spades AJxxx<br>Hearts KQ<br>Diamonds xxx<br>Clubs xxx<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"E287\">Case 2: Partner opens 1NT. You are thinking game in Spades but RHO steals your transfer bid of Two Hearts. Without missing a beat you double. Partner now knows your RHO stole your bid and you have at least five Spades. Partner will bid Two Spades and you will bid 3NT. Partner will correct to Four Spades if he so wishes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"E301\"><strong>Case 3:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"E303\">Spades Kx<br>Hearts Ax<br>Diamonds xx<br>Clubs Axxxxxx<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"E329\">Case 3: Partner opens 1NT. You see a game or possible slam in Clubs or NT. You want<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>to transfer to Clubs but RHO steals your bid of Two Spades. You double to show partner Two Spades was your bid. Partner dutifully bids Three Clubs and you now bid 3NT.
