How do you respond to partner\u2019s forcing bid with the following hands? Remember, a new suit by an unpassed responder is always forcing for one round of bidding.<\/p>\n\n\n<div style=\"float: left; margin-right: 14px;\"><strong><broadstreet-zone zone-id=\"45658\" keywords=\"\" soft-keywords=\"true\" zone-alias=\"\"><\/broadstreet-zone><\/strong><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"E219\"><strong>Case 1:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"E223\">Spades Jx<br>Hearts Axxx<br>Diamonds KQxx<br>Clubs Kxx<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"E251\">Case 1: You open One Diamond. Partner bids One Spade. With your weak opening hand, you want to discourage going further. You are forced to bid. Your best second bid is 1NT. Partner now knows you have a weak opening hand and no suit to bid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"E267\"><strong>Case 2:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"E270\">Spades AQxxx<br>Hearts KJx<br>Diamonds xx<br>Clubs AKQ<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"E298\">Case 2: You open One Spade. Partner responds Two Hearts. With your great hand you want game and maybe slam. You know there is a probable game in Hearts but there may be more. So explore. Bid Three Clubs which would be a forcing bid to see what else partner may have to say. If partner says 3NT, you just take it to Four Hearts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"E309\"><strong>Case 3:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"E311\">Spades void<br>Hearts Axx<br>Diamonds QJxx<br>Clubs AQxxxx<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"E336\">Case 3: You open One Club. Partner bids One Spade. His bid does not limit his hand but it does force you to bid again. You bid Two Clubs. Your bid limits your hand to a minimum opening showing six Clubs.
