The Overcall bid is all about getting your side into the bidding as soon as possible. Partner Overcalls your Left-Hand Opponent\u2019s (LHO) suit opening bid.<\/p>\n\n\n<div style=\"float: left; margin-right: 14px;\"><strong><broadstreet-zone zone-id=\"45658\" keywords=\"\" soft-keywords=\"true\" zone-alias=\"\"><\/broadstreet-zone><\/strong><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>This week we have examples of your hands. You consider which response to use.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Case 1:<br><\/strong>Spades xxx<br>Hearts Qxxx<br>Diamonds AKxx<br>Clubs xx<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Case 1: Your LHO opens One Heart. Partner Overcalls One Spade. You know partner probably is not wealthy in values but you can help out with your nine points. Bid Two Spades.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Case 2:<br><\/strong>Spades xxxx<br>Hearts AQx<br>Diamonds xx<br>Clubs Jxxx<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Case 2: Your LHO opens One Spade. Partner Overcalls Two Hearts. With seven points and three good Hearts, you are happy to bid Three Hearts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Case 3:<br><\/strong>Spades Kxx<br>Hearts KJx<br>Diamonds xxx<br>Clubs xxxx<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Case 3: Your LHO opens One Club. Partner Overcalls One Diamond. You have a poor supporting hand with only seven points.
