{"id":106918,"date":"2021-12-17T16:58:48","date_gmt":"2021-12-17T21:58:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/huntsville.dopperonline.ca\/?p=106918"},"modified":"2021-12-17T16:59:14","modified_gmt":"2021-12-17T21:59:14","slug":"human-remains-found-near-gryffin-lodge-rd-identified","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/doppleronline.ca\/huntsville\/human-remains-found-near-gryffin-lodge-rd-identified\/","title":{"rendered":"Human remains found near Gryffin Lodge Rd in November have been identified"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Members of the Huntsville Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have confirmed the identity of the human remains discovered in Huntsville.<\/p>\n\n\n<div style=\"float: left; margin-right: 14px;\"><strong><broadstreet-zone zone-id=\"45658\" keywords=\"\" soft-keywords=\"true\" zone-alias=\"\"><\/broadstreet-zone><\/strong><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>On Sunday, November 21, 2021, a member of the public called the OPP to report human remains located on a property near Gryffin Lodge Road in Huntsville.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The deceased has been identified as Mark Sweet, 58 years of age, from Perry Township, Ontario.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Three people have been charged in relation to this investigation: a 56-year-old man, a 53-year-old woman, and a 37-year-old man, all from Huntsville. The charges are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00b7&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Indignity to Human Remains, contrary to sec. 182(b)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00b7&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Accessory After the Fact for the offence of Indignity to Human Remains, contrary to sec. 463(b)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One has also been charged with Failure to Comply with an Undertaking, contrary to sec. 145(4)(a).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This case is subject to a court-ordered publication ban.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Huntsville OPP Crime Unit is continuing the investigation, under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB), and assisted by OPP Central Region Forensic Identification Services.The investigation is being conducted in collaboration with&nbsp;the Office of the Chief Coroner for Ontario and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Investigators are asking anyone with information to call Huntsville OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or call Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
