Which of the following hands might use the Western Cuebid when partner and opponents bid as described?  <\/p>\n\n\n<div style=\"float: left; margin-right: 14px;\"><strong><broadstreet-zone zone-id=\"45658\" keywords=\"\" soft-keywords=\"true\" zone-alias=\"\"><\/broadstreet-zone><\/strong><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Case 1: <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Spades &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Kxxx<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hearts&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Qx<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Diamonds&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; AKx<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Clubs &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Axxx<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Case 1:  This is your hand. Your left-hand opponent opens One Heart. Your partner overcalls Two Diamonds. Right-hand opponent passes. With your 16 points you know your partnership may have enough strength for a 3NT game try if partner has a stopper in Hearts. You ask by bidding Three Hearts. Partner will go to 3NT if he has the stopper. Otherwise he just bids Four Diamonds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Case 2: <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Spades &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; AKQxx<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hearts&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Qxxx<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Diamonds&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; K<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Clubs &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Jxx<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Case 2: You open One Spade with this hand of 16 points including one length point. Your left-hand opponent bids Two Clubs. Partner bids Two Diamonds and your right-hand opponent passes. You know your partnership may have a 3NT game if partner has a stopper in Clubs. You ask partner if he has the stopper by bidding Three Clubs. Partner will bid 3NT if he has the stopper. Otherwise he must bid Three Spades and there the hand will be played for the part score. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Case 3: <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Spades &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Kxx<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hearts&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Qxxx<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Diamonds&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; AQxxx<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Clubs &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; x<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Case 3: Your right-hand opponent opens One Heart.  With this hand you overcall Two Diamonds. Left-hand opponent passes and partner bids Three Hearts showing he is strong enough for the partnership to play 3NT if you have a stopper in Hearts. With four cards to the Queen, you do have a stopper in Hearts so you bid 3NT.
