{"id":101354,"date":"2021-08-04T15:09:30","date_gmt":"2021-08-04T19:09:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/huntsville.dopperonline.ca\/?p=101354"},"modified":"2021-08-04T15:09:30","modified_gmt":"2021-08-04T19:09:30","slug":"former-hhs-principal-named-new-superintendent-for-tldsb","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/doppleronline.ca\/huntsville\/former-hhs-principal-named-new-superintendent-for-tldsb\/","title":{"rendered":"Former HHS principal named new superintendent for TLDSB"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kim Williams, a long-term secondary school<br>principal, will be a new superintendent at Trillium Lakelands District School Board (TLDSB). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Williams will replace Katherine MacIver who recently left TLDSB to become the Director of Education at Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board.<\/p>\n\n\n<div style=\"float: left; margin-right: 14px;\"><strong><broadstreet-zone zone-id=\"45658\" keywords=\"\" soft-keywords=\"true\" zone-alias=\"\"><\/broadstreet-zone><\/strong><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWilliams\u2019 approach to advancing student achievement, her commitment to inclusion of student and community voice, and her vision for the development of evidence-based school and system improvement planning will be an asset to the senior team,\u201d said Director of Education Wes Hahn. \u201cHer experience and knowledge related to instructional leadership and, most recently with planning for destreamining will be of great benefit to our students and our system.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Beginning her teaching career in 1992 in Aylmer, Ontario, Williams also taught in secondary schools in<br>London and Ingersoll before coming to TLDSB in 2003 as a vice principal at Lindsay Collegiate and<br>Vocational Institute in Lindsay. She transferred to Bracebridge and Muskoka Lakes Secondary School<br>(BMLSS) in 2005 and was promoted to principal at Huntsville HIgh School in 2010. In 2018, she<br>transferred back to BMLSS, this time as the school principal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cTLDSB is a strong Board with staff who are committed to ensuring an inclusive and equitable learning<br>environment for all students,\u201d said Williams. \u201cI am excited for this opportunity to continue supporting<br>staff and families to help students reach their potential.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Williams and her husband Geno DiPasquale have lived in Huntsville since 2008.
