Winners of MPP Smith’s Griswold Award

With Christmas in the rearview mirror, we thought we’d share some of the photos of the homes and businesses that were recognized by MPP Graydon Smith on his Facebook page.

In the spirit of the holidays, Smith held the first-ever Griswold Award to recognize residents and business owners in the riding for their festive decoration efforts. Residents were invited to submit their favourite for recognition.

According to his staff, there were a total of 24 winners. For their efforts, they will be, or have been, presented with a custom Griswold scroll from the MPP in an Ontario Legislative Assembly blue folder recognizing their achievements in “home decorative arts and sciences.”

“Thank you to everyone who submitted a Griswold Award nomination, and congratulations to the winners!” posted Smith on his social media on December 24. “I delivered as many as I could in person on Saturday but have many more to go. My office will be mailing them to every winner in the New Year. Well done, everyone.”

If you didn’t win a Griswold Award, don’t fret. Maybe you’ll have better luck in 2025!

The award is named after Clark Wilhelm Griswold Jr., the patriarch of the Griswold family in the Griswold Christmas family vacation series.
