Well into its final planning stages, High Crest Muskoka, Huntsville’s next transitional living community has recently reached a major milestone. As with any development there are a series of steps required to secure the infrastructure and approvals even before a shovel hits the ground.
For High Crest the biggest delay has been due to a significant site plan modification, that was developed in response to community feedback.
This revised plan included a proposed land swap, which was suggested during planning with the Town. This land swap was brought before the Huntsville Planning Committee on Aug. 20, where Edgewood representatives attended via Zoom meeting. With no negative feedback regarding the plan, the High Crest development has been received favourably, and the proposal was approved unanimously initiated to move the entrance to High Crest from the original access at 19 Legacy Lane access, to the property at 46 Hanes Rd, the resulting modifications to traffic flow and community access will be improved.
This approval produces a more direct route for community trails and an natural barrier surrounding the new and improved High Crest community. Although any delay seems unfortunate, Edgewood Homes has been able to use the additional planning time to finalize our details and are thrilled with the benefits. There are still a few more formal details required, however with such positive community feedback we are proceeding with confidence and are readying our team and encouraging the public to preregister to receive our complete sales package.
