Muskoka Pet Fest photos

Lead photo: He may be small but he’s mighty. Charlie Norman, a long-haired Dachshund, didn’t miss a bark at the Muskoka Pet Fest last weekend. He was one of many dogs in attendance with their humans. (Photos: Tamara de la Vega).

If you missed the very first Muskoka Pet Fest last Saturday at the Huntsville fairgrounds, you may get another chance.

Organizers are saying they’ve already had vendors book for next year, and the gathering may just turn into an annual event.

The event brought out many dogs and their humans as well as local and out-of-town vendors selling products and services, all things related to pets.

From back left to right, Jay, Fate, and Harper—all a Northern Husky/Sheppard mix—were there with Holly Marko, manager of Bracebridge Animal Hospital. She adopted all three dogs from Paws of the North Rescue.
Huntsville bylaw enforcement officer Andrew Stillar was also at the event selling dog tags. He attended with his own furry friend and “daddy’s princess Leah,” a beautiful Husky cross mix.
Peter Morrison and his companion Hunter were also at the Pet Fest checking out all that the vendors had to offer. Hunter is a 4-year-old American Newfie.
Porsha, a Golden Retriever looks over stoically as two dogs sniff each other’s tails.
Bella, a Border Collie/Lab mix stops for a drink in the heat at the hydration station
Raymond Joncas drove from Sudbury for the event saying it was a great reason to come to Muskoka. He was with his Collie furry family member Lassie.
The doggy lure obstacle course was a popular activity.
